Like many countries and regions of the world, Quebec is currently battling the chronic challenges his fiscal imbalance. It is argued that too high level of debt can seriously jeopardize economic growth and policies effectiveness, limiting leeway. As of the end of 2014 the Quebec government gross debt amounted to some $ 275 billion for a gross domestic product (GDP) of $300 billion.
